Our unique technology
for your outstanding result!

Metalprint LTD was founded in 2017 and is, at the moment, the only company in Latvia offering metal 3D laser printing services and 3D laser scanning.

ABOUT US

Metal 3D laser printing is a patented technology, known in the world for about 5 years and used in production of complicated, unique objects or spareparts in small quantities. The technology is widely used accross industries. Metal 3D laserprinting can be used in such industries as, for instance: medical technology (prosthesis), dentistry (implants), aviation (turbines), jewelery manufacture, creation of metal art and design objects, production of household objects, manufacture of parts for household appliances, production of parts for military equipment (weapons), automotive engineering (lightweight parts), science (production of prototypes), industrial machinery servicing, tooling and similar. This technology is used also by NASA on space stations.
The services are available for anyone interested — be it a private person or an enterprise. The technology can be used for both professional, business purposes as well as private needs (for example — personalised gifts, design objects, niche products).
The price and the production time will be calculated for each order individually as they will depend on the size and complexity of the desired object to be produced. The price will consist of: material costs (the type and amount of the material needed), amount of data to be processed, the time of actual production (amount of printing hours). Precise estimate of the price and production time will be given after the receipt of your order.

Services offered by Metalprint LTD:

♦ Metal 3D Laser scanning
♦ Metal 3D Laser printing

Metal 3D laserprinting is a great alternative to traditional methods (metal casting and CNC machining) in all cases when there is a need to produce complicated parts or unique objects of small size and in limited quantities.
No doubt that metal 3D laserprinting can be named the “Green” (environment friendly) technology — if applied properly, it will save your time, your money and nature resources!

The advantages of this technology, comparing to the traditional methods of production:

  • Material saving (no residue/no waste) technology — only the actually needed amounts of material for the exact object will be used, nothing wasted;
  • The device works with electricity — environment friendly technology;
  • Suitable for complicated shapes — parts that are impossible to produce by metal casting or 3D milling;
  • Suitable for unique series — production in small amounts;
  • High precision, minimal risk of error — the whole production process is serviced by one person;
  • Efficiency — up to amount of 15 complicated, small sized objects this technology will be more efficient than the traditional ways of production — both time and money wise;
  • Economy — for small lots will be financially more profitable than the traditional methods, as there is no need to first produce the mold;
  • Allows to produce lightweight parts by the given sample;
  • Allows to produce a restored object instead of the broken or damaged one — by scanning the damaged part, simulating the missing details and creating the complete form to produce a flawless object;
  • Allows to produce prototypes before production in large series via conventional metal casting or CNC machining.

TECHNOLOGY

The so called Additive production (metal 3D printing) is a unique technology that opens up new opportunities in production of complicated objects. Comparing to traditional methods of production this technology is highly efficient for production of prototypes and especially complicated objects or spareparts in small quantities — it is a great alternative to metal casting or CNC machining.

— Selective Laser Melting (SLM).

  • Max size of the object — 300x300x400 mm.
  • Precision: layer thickness — 30–100 µm.
  • Production speed — 2-10 cm3/h
  • Laser output — 300 W.
  • Material selection — various types of materials are available — stainless steel (316SS), titanium (Ti-6Al-4V) and more.
  • Production principle in short — the data of the object (or sparepart) to be produced, are inserted into the 3D metal printer — a production project is created. The laser beam melts metal powder to form the homogenous metal object as desired according to the project.
In order to create the production project and to programm the printer, the data or description of the desired object will be needed — for example: a 2D picture or a drawing, a scanned 3D picture (any data format), or a description of the idea via e-mail, or — you may bring the actual object or sparepart with you and it will be scanned while you will be placing your order. The technology allows to scan a damaged or broken object, simulate the missing parts of it, create a complete form and produce a new, flawless object. It is also possible to produce lightweight parts by the given sample.
